Certificate of appreciations awarded to high school students

President Minsun Kim awarded certificate of appreciations to four high school students who volunteered as staff on the Museum's Kick-off Party on June 14. They were also appointed as honorary ambassadors until Dec 2020 and will play a key role in promoting the MOKAH and its events on social media. President Kim asked them to promote the museum not only to the Korean community of students, but also to other ethnic groups. Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer appoints President Minsun Kim to her Census 2020 Committee

With recommendation from Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY 12), President Minsun Kim was appointed as a member of the Gale Brewer Borough 2020 Census Committee. The Committee has allocated a $50,000 discretionary Fund to encourage people to participate in the Census and will distribute the funds to support nonprofit organizations who have creative ideas to count undercounted demographics.

President Minsun Kim receives Community Service Award

The Korean American Youth Foundation (KAYF) celebrated its 26th anniversary on June 5 at Pier 59. At the gala dinner, the Foundation recognized her fantastic work of saving the KAAGNY building and establishing the Museum of Korean American Heritage with a Community Service Award.
